Geert Houben

Geert Houben holds master’s degrees in Computer Science and Business Economics from Hasselt University, Belgium, and began his career researching adaptive user interfaces at the university’s Expertise Centre for Digital Media. He applied that work first in optical retail, founding a software company whose touch-screen solution was acquired by a major European retail chain.

 

In 2011, inspired by his grandmother’s experience of ageing, he founded Cubigo, an integrated platform for non-clinical services in Senior Living. The company operates in four countries and works with the largest Senior Living organisations in the world.

 

Cubigo won the Belgian government’s Technology & Innovation Award, and Geert was nominated Young Entrepreneur of the Year, has served on Digital Minds, the advisory board to Belgium’s Minister of Digital Agenda, and spoke at TEDx on ageing and technology. He continues to lead Cubigo as CEO.
