Nick Stengle joined Sunrise Senior Living in August of 2021 as Chief Operating Officer and brings more than 20 years of leadership and operations experience. As COO, Nick leads all aspects of community operations focused on driving Sunrise’s strategic mission of championing quality of life for all seniors.

Nick is an experienced leader with a track record of building exceptional teams and organizations in healthcare and hospitality. Most recently, Nick served as COO of Kindred at Home, the largest home health provider in the U.S., where he supported a team of 30,000 as they delivered care to 100,000 patients, including during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr. Stengle previously served in operations leadership roles at global investment firm TPG Capital, where he led major transformation projects as a member of the portfolio operations team. He also led North American Operations for HMSHost International with more than 30,000 employees and operations in 84 airports and 105 motorway travel plazas. Before that, he served as V.P. of Global Operations for Marriott International and was a project leader for the Boston Consulting Group, where he led engagements focused on strategic growth, operational process improvement, pricing strategy, and organizational design.

Nick is also a decorated U.S. military veteran, having spent 11 years in the U.S. Air Force.  He served as a Top Gun F-15E Instructor, Assistant Director of Operations, and Flight Commander after graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy with academic and military honors. Nick also earned his MBA from Touro University.
